Two Vintage Shakespeare Baitcasting Reels
Shakespeare Thrifty 1902, model TF introduced 1956. The reel is complete and functional. It turns freely, the line guide moves smoothly in its full range, and the clicker works. Made in USA. See photo for the discoloration on most of the surfaces.
Shakespeare Wondereel 1920, model FK introduced 1951. The reel is also complete and functional. It turns freely, the line guide moves smoothly in its full range, and the clicker works. Made in USA. This 1920 is cleaner than the Thrifty above. Includes old line.
These old reels lack a lot of the refinement of the last 70 years, but they are fun to fish with. Catching a bigger-than-expected fish on a reel with no drag is a blast.
